Lights, Sirens, Safety!
Families will have a chance to meet a firefighter, climb into an ambulance, and even whoop a siren during “Lights, Sirens, Safety!” in the museum parking lot on Saturday, May 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Organized by the museum’s security and visitor services division, this event is free of charge.
“Lights, Sirens, Safety” offers people a chance to see equipment and meet professional firefighters, police officers, paramedics, animal control officers, search and rescue volunteers, and others who help keep our communities great places to live and play. Participating agencies include the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department and Search and Rescue; the San Bernardino County Fire Department; Redlands Fire Department; Redlands Police Department; Redlands Animal Control; American Medical Response; California Highway Patrol; California Department of Fish and Game; San Bernardino County Probation; San Bernardino City Unified School District Police; and the San Bernardino Police Department. Representatives from safety agencies are subject to emergency reassignment.
While there is no fee to participate in “Lights, Sirens, and Safety”, regular fees will be charged for admission to the museum and its special exhibits, which include “A Walk in the Woods”, “Bright, Quick & Ready”, “Passing Fancies”, and “Seldom Seen: Curators’ Choices from the Collections”.
The San Bernardino County Museum is at the California Street exit from Interstate 10. The museum is open Tuesdays through Sundays and holiday Mondays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $6 (adult), $5 (senior or student) and $4 (child aged 5-12). Children under 5 and Museum Association members are admitted free. Parking is free.
