Free Admission Sunday at the County Museum
The San Bernardino County Museum invites the public to visit the museum in Redlands during regular museum hours with no admission fee on Sunday, June 5. This free admission day is supported by a generous contribution from James Ramos, local owner of Grounds for Enjoyment in Highlands.
While at the museum, visitors will enjoy four special exhibits as well as displays of specimens and artifacts that interpret local history, anthropology, geology, paleontology, and biological sciences in regional context.
“Seldom Seen: Curators’ Choices from the Collections,” in the Fisk Gallery, offers samples of unusual objects from the museum’s permanent collections that are rarely exhibited. “Bright, Quick, and Ready: Schools in San Bernardino County 1870s-1940s,” in the Hall of History galleries uses objects from the museum collections and hands-on activities to explore school days of the past. “The Hatching of Oology,” in the Schuiling Gallery, discusses the history of the museum’s egg and nest collections. “Passing Fancies” is an exhibit of Victorian needlework shown in the specially-designed textile cases in the Hall of History.
The San Bernardino County Museum is at the California Street exit from Interstate 10 in Redlands.
