Museum Moon Party
The San Bernardino Valley Amateur Astronomy Club and the museum’s education division will host a Moon Party on Saturday, September 10 from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. at the San Bernardino County Museum. Numerous telescopes will be set up to observe the first-quarter moon and reveal the fascinating face of the moon up close. There is no charge for the Moon Party, which will be held outside the museum near the parking area.
“As museum affiliates, the Amateur Astronomers have been exceedingly generous with their time and expertise as they offer public programs here at the museum,” said Jolene Redvale, curator of education. “It’s very exciting for the astronomers and for the museum to see how many families – both kids and adults -- participate in star gazing, planet-watching, moon exploring, and even the occasional eclipse.”
