County Museum Association Elect New Officers
The San Bernardino County Museum Association has announced its slate of officers for the fiscal year 2005-2006. Serving as president will be Susan Summers, associate dean of the Cal State San Bernardino College of Extended Learning.
Other officers include Patrick Garcia, D.D.S, as vice president, John Thornes as past president, and James Ramos as treasurer. Attorneys Alan Marks and Pet Battersby will serve as at-large members along with emeritus board member Dr. Harold Hill.
Summers expressed enthusiasm for her new role on the board. "Since I moved to the Inland Empire in 1974, I've regarded the San Bernardino County Museum as a real treasure within our region, so I'm humbled and proud to take on the role of president of the Museum's support and fund-raising arm," she said.
"This is going to be an exciting and challenging year for the San Bernardino County Museum Association," she added. "I'm looking forward to working with an exceptional board to assist the Museum in meeting its goal of expanding and modernizing the institution. Significant help from the community is essential in meeting these goals, but the results will knock our collective socks off."
The museum is in the midst of a capital campaign to fund the construction of its new Hall of Paleontology.
