Families Live Like the 1890s at County Museum
The education division at the San Bernardino County Museum will offer a workshop that invites families to experience life like it was more than one hundred years ago. “Live Like a Kid in the 1890s” will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2005 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The registration deadline for the workshop is Thursday, September 15.
“Grandparents, aunts, uncles, parents, kids, and good friends can come discover what everyday life was like in California in the 1890s,” said Nancy Kirkwood, museum educator. “We’ll be doing rug-beating, candle-making, butter-making, and more. It won’t all be work: we’ll play games and enjoy an 1890s lunch together.”
Workshop fees include all activities, lunch, and museum admission. The first adult in the extended family costs $20; each additional family member is $17. Registration forms are available at the museum or on the museum website, www.sbcountymuseum.org.
